History
Detmold Flexibles history extends back to 1905 when Charles Gabb Flexible Packaging was formed. Similar to Detmold Packaging, Gabbs commenced business as a paper merchant but continually re-invented itself to become one of the leading flexographic printers in Australia.
In 2005 the business was acquired by the Detmold Packaging Group, which has seen it extend its operations beyond Australia’s eastern seaboard and into Asia.
Capability
Detmold Flexibles has a range of modern presses, slitters, lamination and waxing equipment, which is the foundation for its high quality product offering. We print, convert and supply a wide range of flexible packaging including paper, film and laminates to many major food, snack and consumables companies within Australia and the region. |

Specific capabilities include plain and printed solvent-less laminations, waxing and the application of aqueous coatings, paper products from tissue grades through to heavy sack grades for confectionery, pet food, ice cream, gift wrap and medical products, and films which can be printed up to 8 Colours, in single layers and laminated, barrier and non barrier configurations for products including snack food, biscuits, dried fruit, pet food and grocery products.
Detmold Flexibles cultivates a range of strategic partnerships with key suppliers and customers. On the supplier side this ensures we are plugged into key developments locally and internationally in areas including inks, substrates, pre-press and equipment. Our strategic partnerships with our customers allow us to focus on developments which will add value to their businesses.
Print Awards
Detmold Flexibles has been the recipient of multiple awards for printing excellence over the past decade. The awards have been presented by AFTA, PICA and the Du Pont Grand Prix series for flexographic print on both paper and film substrates, in mid and wide web formats.
